Are low-speed juicer manufacturers still revolutionizing the market and introducing something groundbreaking?

Or maybe more awaits us, an evolution in which juicers will be more refined, efficient, and better? So how did the latest Kuvings EVO820 juicer come out?

I have seen for several years that we are moving towards the latter option. And nothing terrible about it.

Whole Slow Juicer EVO820 Series – Kuvings

It reminds me of the car market, where well-known brands such as Audi and BMW focus on better performance, introducing improvements and changes in appearance with the new models.

Evolution, not revolution. Today I want to share my opinion on the latest Kuvings EVO820 review.

Kuvings EVO820 – The Latest Flagship Model From Kuvings

Kuvings Evolution (also EVO820) is the latest juicer from the Korean manufacturer, the successor of the wide-opening juicers – Kuvings C9500 and B6000. This is the latest and flagship model of Kuvings for home use (I emphasize home use because the Kuvings offer includes the CS600 CHEF model dedicated to gastronomy).

The manufacturer defines EVO820 as the most powerful juicer for home use. Is that right? Does the EVO juicer improve, accelerate, and facilitate juicing?

Until now, I used the C9500 model. Previously I used the Kuvings B6000 model for a long time. As a result, I know the strengths and weaknesses of vertical juicers perfectly, and it is easy to compare subsequent models in terms of introduced changes.

In this post, I will look at the latest Kuvings juicer, compare it with the C9500 and try to answer whether it is worth choosing EVO820.

Kuvings EVO820 Review – The Design

Let me start with the fact that the manufacturer of Kuvings juicers introduced another model in parallel with EVO820 – D9900. Model Evolution and D9900 differ primarily in appearance.

The D9900 model refers to its predecessor from 2016 – the Kuvings C9500 juicer. They differ in thickness and design of the chute and housing colors. The EVO820 is an entirely new machine. From the outside, it doesn’t look much like previous models.

Evolution has a more oval/round shape. It is slightly larger but, therefore, more stable when juicing. The EVO820 body is made entirely of dark plastic. EVO820 is also made in new colors.

The matt edition of the Evolution line adds charm and gives a more exclusive look. The front of the juicer is decorated with a material resembling a “skin” in white, graphite, red, or champagne. Not surprisingly, the EVO820 is called the “gold” or “premium” series.

What you see outside pleases not only the eye. It also has a convenient dimension.

Anyone who has dealt with fresh turmeric knows how vital the dyes are and how difficult it is to eliminate them. My Kuvings C9500, which I have used so far, is white, and unfortunately, with large amounts of juiced turmeric, it happened to me that some juice got on the juicer body … leaving yellow marks that are very difficult to clean. In EVO820, this problem has been eliminated in two ways.

Firstly, by using the dark color of the entire machine housing, and secondly, by changing the design of the bottom bowl, which prevents “leakage” of juice on the juicer body. Thanks to these two changes, the risk of persistent spots has dropped to zero in the latest EVO model.

When designing the EVO820, the manufacturer included practical handles missing in the C9500 and B6000 in the latest model. One handle is on the back of the device, and the other is on the front. A small thing, but it makes life easier, especially if the juicer does not have its permanent place on the kitchen counter and must be moved or moved frequently.

What caught my attention was the more significant number of ventilation holes in the EVO820 housing, which is supposed to work even faster (more on this later). This will positively affect the operation of the device.

Kuvings EVO820 Review – Double Hole Chute

Yes, it is even more comprehensive than in the previous model! Its diameter is 82 mm, so it can easily fit a whole medium-sized apple or orange without cutting or pushing.

Kuvings Juicer manufacturer was the first to introduce such a solution and remained loyal to it.

kuvings-evo820-double-hole

A large hole in Kuvings encourages us to use large and wide-diameter ingredients. While apple or orange is not a challenge for a juicer, throwing in a large and fibrous beetroot or very thick and hard carrots can be problematic (such ingredients must be cut in half, as mentioned by the manufacturer in the user manual).

In the latest model, the manufacturer solved it optimally. As a result, the opening at Evolution is double and equipped with a movable flap.

You can easily throw large apples, lemons, oranges, etc., into a large hole with a movable flap. Then, the juicer pulls them very efficiently and quickly.

The second hole is used to juice hard, fibrous, and long products such as carrots, beets, and celery.

So if you want to add a thicker/oval ingredient like an apple or orange, open the flap, and that’s it. However, if you insert narrow and more extended components, you can do it without opening the flap through the little hole flap.

This double hole also has a dual function – it prevents the ingredients from entering the juicer too quickly, resulting in optimal juicing. It also provides additional security for the youngest users.

Double Reinforced Construction

In addition to appearance, this is another change that catches the eye. The new Kuvings Evolution juicer has been doubly strengthened.

The bottom juice bowl and top cover have become thicker and more massive. In addition, the number of catches connecting the bowl with the lid increased to 4  (in earlier models, there were three catches).

In my opinion, these two changes are most noticeable during juicing and affect the juicing time. You feel the difference immediately by picking up the lid or bowl.

In addition, these elements are thicker and more massive than the C9500 model (and even more, the difference is felt by comparing the same aspects of supermarket juicers).

kuvings-evo820-construction

I feel the excellent quality of the materials used in Kuvings Evolution.

Thanks to the more significant number of catches connecting the bottom bowl with the lid, the EVO820 juicer works stably, even when throwing a thick piece of hard carrot.

The previous model, C9500, also efficiently managed such components but not as smoothly as the latest model of the Kuvings juicer.

For example, after throwing in a thick carrot, the lower bowl in C9500 moved as if it were slightly wavy. The bowl does not move in the new juicer.

Improved Pulp Disposal

Another significant change in the EVO820 is modifying the hole from which the pulp comes out while juicing.

The hole for ejecting pulp is more significant. Its upper part has a “notch” and is more open from above. This change will please people who often juice fibrous products like green leaves or celery.

kuvings-evo820-pulp

In the earlier model, it happened to me that dry and dense pulp of green ingredients accumulated in this hole, slightly sticking to it. So I juiced spinach, kale, and celery in EVO820, and I must admit that the pulp came out smoothly.

This is a significant change noticeable not only when juicing but also when washing equipment. The cut makes it much easier to clean the pulp drain hole.

It is worth noting that a giant hole also appeared in the juicer itself, contributing to a more efficient and faster device operation.

Very Clear Juice

The previous Kuvings C9500 model was great for juice clarity (compared to B6000, where the particles in the juice were quite noticeable).

I must admit that EVO820 has risen to the challenge and juices obvious juice (similar to the one I juice in my Angel 8500S twin-screw juicer)—a huge plus.

Performance And Juicing – Comparision Test Between  EVO820 And C9500

Kuvings C9500 vs. EVO820

I have both models, so I checked them on the same ingredients. Is Evolution different in performance? Does the latest EVO820 model give more juice than its predecessor C9500?

In both cases, I used precisely 1.5 kg of ingredients (carrot, grapefruit, and beet) for this experiment. For the test to be reliable, we weighed every ingredient (i.e., every carrot or beetroot) and divided it evenly in half so that there was no doubt that any of the ingredients were more or less juicy. Who won the duel?

Performance and Clarity Of The Juice

The amount of juice was slightly higher in EVO, but that’s a slight difference. I poured the juices prepared in both juicers through a thick sieve to assess the amount of pulp in the juice. In both cases, it looked very similar. Clear juice with almost no pulp. Evolution does all the work faster. However, this is too small an attempt to assess it, and I will certainly carry out a few more tests considering the more demanding product, i.e., greens.

Update on 21.08.08. After a few months of using EVO820, I can say that EVO generally performs better with some components than C9500.

Juice looks similar in the case of juice from ingredients such as carrots, apples, or beetroot. In the case of greens, you can already feel the difference.

EVO has a visible advantage here. It is much better at dealing with fibrous leaves like kale or parsley than older models. In addition, the pulp is extracted from EVO much more efficiently than in the case of the C9500, which makes the juicer squeeze the green juice easily.

Working Speed And Volume Of The Device

The juices in both juicers were prepared in parallel to assess the working culture of both devices and the juicing time. It turned out that the EVO820 managed to squeeze the juice faster and worked much more quieter.

Looking at the work of both juicers, it can be said that EVO squeezes juice more efficiently. The device worked very stably, without effort. In C9500, you can notice how the bottom bowl “works” when juicing a thicker carrot or beetroot.

What surprised me very much when washing both juicers was that there was no pulp in the EVO snail. This confirms the effectiveness of the improvements introduced by the manufacturer, thanks to which the latest juicer gets rid of pulp outside with greater ease.

I could sum up my little experiment briefly.

The user manual is here: Kuvings EVO820GM User Manual Download.

Compared to the C9500, the new EVO820 juicer is slightly faster, quieter, and, most importantly, easier to handle complex and fibrous ingredients.

Kuvings EVO820 Review – Cleaning And Maintenance

Washing all Evolution juicer components takes a similar amount of time as with the C9500. At least this is the case in my case, but I have excellent skills and developed quick cleaning methods—just a few minutes.

For less experienced people, EVO should be slightly easier to clean due to the better-designed hole for the pulp, which took a little more time in earlier models. Indeed, the new brush makes cleaning easier, allowing more accessible access to the center of the juice drain.

In the Evolution model, the manufacturer added the option of unscrewing the bowl’s bottom part, allowing for more thorough cleaning and drying, which was not in previous models. Although I haven’t used this option yet, I don’t think I need it.

Additional Accessories

The Kuvings EVO820 juicer has three brushes (only two were included with earlier models). The new brush resembles a bottle brush. It helps clean the drain in the bottom bowl from which juice flows. This facilitates thorough cleaning.

A new tool is also a key that has been attached to facilitate opening the top cover. I do not use it because the lid can be unscrewed quickly, but for people starting the adventure with a wide-inlet juicer, it can be more accessible initially.

Powerful 240W Motor

The Evolution juicer engine, like in previous models and Kuvings D9900, is one of the most powerful on the market. Kuvings alone manufactures machines and parts for its equipment in Korea, which few manufacturers can boast of.

Most juicers offered on the market are “assembled” from parts made in China, often in various factories. Perhaps that is why Kuvings offers up to 10 years of warranty for the entire device.

Minuses?

There are really few. Kuvings listen to its customers and makes necessary improvements with each new model. At the beginning of the EVO adventure, the downside seemed to be a changed inlet for ingredients with a double hole.

I was used to throwing all ingredients into the same hole. In EVO, inserting components into two holes requires a switch, which is not a problem.

I also noticed that you need to use more force when closing the top cover than on the C9500 to close it.

Perhaps this is due to the manufacturer’s use of more massive parts. Of course, this is only my subjective feeling resulting from getting used to the previous model 🙂 You probably won’t feel this change if you haven’t used Kuvings before.

Assembling this juicer takes only 20 seconds, which you can see in the film. Unfortunately, this is the fifth generation of Kuvings juicers, and it’s hard to find significant minuses.

Is It Worth Buying Kuvings EVO820 Juicer?

I can summarize this post after juicing out several dozen liters of juice in EVO820. EVO820 is much stronger, faster, more efficient, and quieter than its predecessors, but also than most low-speed juicers on the market.

The all-new Kuvings Evolution look is also a big plus. Are these changes revolutionary? As the model name suggests, this is certainly not a revolution but an evolution.

Kuvings EVO820 is undoubtedly a highly refined version of the very successful C9500.

Who Is Kuvings EVO820 For?

The EVO model is an excellent investment if you want to juice healthy juices regularly at home for yourself or the whole family and you care about the highest quality juice.

I think it is the fastest and most potent low-speed juicer with a huge inlet on the market, in which you can easily squeeze juice from hard and fibrous ingredients. Unfortunately, these low-speed juicers have the most problem, and Kuvings stands out here.

What is worth emphasizing and what distinguishes Kuvingsa EVO from most juicers is the speed in preparing the juice from the most demanding ingredients and efficient washing. And this guarantees you will be happy and often use your juicer.

Jack Cholach
My name is Jack, and I love Juicing. Juice cleansing has been a part of my life since I was 14 years old. When I started, it helped me with everything from detoxing to gaining weight in the right places, but now that it's an everyday routine for me, juice cleanse have become more about how they make me feel while doing them than any other benefit or result. The most remarkable thing about juicing? You can get so many different flavors! My favorite ones are carrot-apple-ginger and apple-spinach because they taste delicious too! If you're interested in trying your first juice cleanse, then click here for some tips on what to do before starting one if you've never done anything like this before.
