In today’s article, we will do the Breville JE98XL review. We bought this juicer on Amazon.
The first impression you get of this juicer is that it is well-designed and robust (which is excellent since you don’t want any hassle returning your products).
It seems like a great juicer at first sight, but let’s see what the details in the text below say.
Breville JE98XL Review
I will attempt to describe the JE98XL for those not yet into juicing. This centrifugal model works by spinning the fruits and vegetables around at high speed—a basket with a shredding disk on the bottom and a sieve around the edges. The shredding disk rips the fruits and vegetables apart, and the sieve part allows the juice to flow through and out into the juice jug via a spout.
The pulp then eventually drops into the pulp bin. One tip worth mentioning is always wrapping your pulp bin with a plastic grocery bag or one of those small trash bag liners. It saves you time that you would spend washing the pulp bin if you do it right. Also, make sure the bag has no holes!
Breville JE98XL Tecnical Details
This juicer has two speeds, fast (12,000 RPM) and slow (6,500 RPM). The fast speed is needed for more complex fruits and vegetables like carrots and apples. The idea here is that the slower pace is for softer fruits and vegetables, so they don’t get spun out into the pulp bin before the machine can extract the juice.
The Breville JE98XL is slightly on the noisier side, as all centrifugal juicers tend to be. It’s especially noticeable at the higher speed setting.
We wouldn’t say it’s deafening, but you probably wouldn’t want to juice something with this machine first thing in the morning if people are trying to sleep. However, this is nothing compared to the much cheaper Black and Decker model JE2200B – this device is exceptionally annoying.
The juice collected from the Breville JE98XL tastes delicious, and you can taste the flavors easily. It truly feels like homemade juice that your grandmother would serve you.
The pulp from this machine feels kind of damp. Not super wet, but there’s still some liquid left. That’s expected from a centrifugal juicer, so don’t worry.
You can always put the pulp back through the juicer for a second time, and you will get even more juice this way.
You will also notice that you occasionally feel a weird vibration when juicing many leafy greens.
This is because some pulp can get stuck in the basket, so the machine works harder to get it out.

Breville JE98XL Review: High-Quality Juicing, Entry-Level Price
How do you extract the juice from fruit without leaving the nutrients behind?
Breville’s Nutri Disc and patented juicing system extract more nutrients than other juicers and transfer less than 1.8 degrees F of heat to protect enzymes and maximize nutrient absorption of select nutrients.

850-watt dual-speed motor allows you to juice hard fruits and vegetables like apples and beets at high speed (12,000 RPM), while the low speed (6,500rpm) is optimal for softer fruits and leafy green vegetables, cantaloupe, and spinach.
The Juice Fountain Plus cutting disc is so powerful that pineapple can be juiced in large chunks with the rind. Also, this juicer features an extra-wide 3-inch feeder chute that accommodates large chunks or entire pieces of fruit or vegetables, eliminating the need for chopping vegetables.
The JE98XL is not only easy to use but also easy to clean. It is pulp-ejecting and comes with a large-capacity pulp collector, and most parts can be washed on the top shelf of the dishwasher.

- Easy clean-up with the included cleaning brush. All parts except for the mesh filter basket/Nutri Disc and food pusher can be washed on the top shelf of the dishwasher.
Final Thoughts
This juicer is a fast, powerful, and ruggedly built machine. It has a generous feed chute that cuts down on preparation time, and the giant pulp and juice containers mean you can usually complete a juicing session without the need to stop and empty them.
It handles fruit and hard vegetables well, but if your main interest is leafy vegetables, a slow juicer maybe is your best choice.
Overall we consider the Breville JE98XL Juice Fountain Plus a good investment, especially if you lead a fairly hectic life and juicing time is at a premium.
